Immersive team Building and events company with a murderous twist

Visual identity design company UK

Hoverfly Design - producing new rebrand for 'Immersive Murder Mystery Events' company

The goal

Design a rebrand (including naming support), for an existing immersive team building company. The project includes a new visual identity design and brand guidelines.

We provided a bespoke custom logo design, plus brand identity guidelines to rebrand an existing Murder Mystery immersive events company. The project was commissioned to enable the existing company to widen its appeal and diversify its offering to customers.

Service used: Premium Logo Package

Social media icon and typography

Each of our logos are provided in multiple formats (.eps, .pdf, .svg, .jpg and .png). As part of this project we created an alternative brand stamp version of the logo with type in a circular format.

A play on words

This identity design was a comprehensive rebrand for an existing company. Like with many companies diversification brought about the need for change. The old company name was too specific to one side of the business and the brand name didn’t encompass the whole offering of the direction the business was headed in. We took out the client through a discovery session and subsequently provided brand naming support to help guide the customer through a process that led them to this new company name ‘Dead Herring’. The name is a playful twist on red herring which was highly appropriate for the company that provides murder mystery entertainment for team building and events.

The design concept

We offered a number of creative options for the rebrand. The client chose the visual identity shown as the playfulness combined with clue solving came through strongly in this brand design approach. The social media icon also provides a nice iconic approach to the design, using the ‘D’ of Dead Herring with the Red herring inside makes it look like a fish in a tin. The idea of this concept is to almost catch the viewer out. By using the red herring it almost tricks the observer into the name red herring and on further inspection, the pun is received. We produced colour palettes, brand fonts and a comprehensive brand guide to deliver a new consistent brand identity.
